Distance Learning in School Closure Days for COVID-19

Ou learners are not attending schools because of COVID-19 is soaring. The government has closed educational institutions in an attempt to contain the global pandemic(link is external).  This has not happened only in Bangladesh.  According to UNESCO monitoring, over 160 countries have implemented nationwide closures, impacting over 87% of the world’s student population. Several other countries have implemented localized school closures and, should these closures become nationwide, millions of additional learners will experience education disruption. (Ref: UNESCO)
In the same line, Abdul Kadir Molla International School has started distance learning in this school closures day. Here is a brief discussion of how we are running our PYP curriculum online.  
Online Tools We are Using  As our immediate response, we planned how to continue teaching from home. We had several meetings to choose the platform of distance teaching to finalized   Google Classroom   as a distance learning platform.

WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME

Abdul Kadir Molla International School Date: 12.01.2020-27.02.2020                                                             Duration: 6 weeks                                                                              Session: 2019-2020 We have started ourfifth Unit of Inquiryunder the trans-disciplinary theme of “Where We Are In Place And Time”. Throughout this unit, we will inquire into orientation in place and time; personal histories; homes and journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the relationships between the inter connectedness of individuals and civilizations, from local and global perspectives. Central idea: Civilizations can shape present day systems and technologies.  Lines of inquiry: •Characteristics of civilization and societies •Connection between past and present
